Offline Execution: All tools inside PDF Toolkit (including PDF viewing, merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, watermarking, password protecting, signing, and metadata editing) are built to execute strictly on the client side (on-device).

3. Permissions Required & How They Are Used

To deliver our PDF processing functions, the app requests the following system access permissions:

• Storage (Files and Media): Needed to retrieve PDFs from your device's directories and save processed output files back to your device.
• Camera: Needed only when you utilize the "Scanner" tool to capture images of physical documents to convert them into PDF files.

4. On-Device Services (OCR & Scanning)

Text Recognition (OCR): PDF Toolkit uses Google ML Kit's on-device Text Recognition models to perform optical character recognition. The processed images and text are analyzed completely locally on your CPU/GPU, and no data is sent to external services or Google servers during this process.

Document Edge Detection: All document boundary detection is performed locally using mathematical filters on the device.

5. Third-Party Libraries & Services

PDF Toolkit integrates standard, fully audited Flutter plugins to interact with native platform features (e.g. printing, sharing). These interactions are initiated solely by your explicit user action (like pressing a "Share" button) and use standard operating system APIs.
